Speaker Demo's?

Hey all, we have been passing around the idea lately that we carry some higher end products, and that not everyone can afford them. Also in the case that not all people are able to listen to them before they buy them, ultimately not knowing if they really will like them once installed.

So what we may have a solution to this. We think that we may be able to work something out where as to we could Demo out a certain set of speakers / subwoofers, or rent them persay. We just do not know if you all would like this or how popular it would be.

So we want to hear your input on this. Like if it should be a go or no. Length of time allowed to make the final purchase of the products. Price. That kind of things.

'tis a good idea, but I would be afraid of installing something that wasn't mine.

It would help me discern the differences between the germ/profi mids

I remember a few years ago this practice was done on at least one other car fourm, where members would try out a sub for a month then send it to someone else on the fourm to play with. Im not sure how that all worked out but I dont remember it having and drama associated with it. Maybe someone who actually particpated in that can chime in.

Usually though, the only people who get to demo new sub lines is consistant competitors, this might give a chance to some people who just cant afford to be a mega-mondo-meca-dbdrag competitor.

Well if someone were to break / blow up the speakers or whatever it would be, then they would obvious own the set. Everything would have be through Credit Cards to allow this. Which enables us, if no one returns an item or damages it, to charge the full price of the item. We also were thinking of a Rent to Own situation too... Keep the feedback coming!

Well thats the thing, if someone rents something they cant afford it so they can see how it sounds, then once it breaks/blows they cant afford it. lol

I've seen some of the sending 1 product around for everyone to test before. Forgot what it was, but it had good results since it was only send to very trust worthy people.

just front the couple of subs to people who have good competiion history (which proves their dedicated in the sport and accountable to their organization dBDrag, MECA, IASCA, USACi) .... and let them pass it around to comperable users.

I just cant see someone sending a $500 sub to some noob then it getting sent to a 4 year veteran competitor and them both be considered on the same level of use.

I understand that exactly, and feel it would be unfair for someone to get a sub that was used from someone else..I guess this leads us towards to more Rent to own situation. Frankly, no one wants a second hand set of speakers...

But it you all want to do a demo where you can send it around to whom ever you know best and would treat it good, then lets get something going and Ill see what I can do!

I tried sending a PM to squeek to see if this was ok. If not, then go ahead and delete it. This isnt for us, its a way to help people out, that cant listen to speakers in their own town before they buy. Please reword it if you have to. Im just simply looking for feedback, which is allowed in the guidlines.
