My first post... And probably a silly couple of questions lol... FYI I've been reading and searching for days with no real answer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
I have a regular cab truck that I'm installing a new stereo system... New head unit, 2 rf punch 6.5 inch mid speakers, 2 rf punch tweeters with passive crossovers, jbl 10 inch sub, one 4 Chanel amp and one mono amp...
My head unit has 3 way crossover ability (tweeter midrange subwoofer) but doing so I loose the ability to to have a full range output on the hu (I may want to add full range speakers in the future) ... The speakers are separates and the mids require a band pass with tweeters having passive crossovers.
My question is if I use the 2 way crossover (front rear sub) on my hu is it OK to use the front channels for tweeter (passive crossovers) and rear channels for the mids...
The simplest way to ask is is there a difference in the signal output from the hu front to back excluding any timing or dsp adjustments made to the hu.
Second question is is it ok to use hp filters on hu and lp filters on amp to accomplish a band pass?
Man there's like so many ways to do this lol...
I should also add that my 3 way x-over hu settings don't allow tweeter pass through... All other channels do... Which is weird IMHO lol
*edit*
Thinking about this you can't do band pass using hu and amp... Thought I could for a moment lol
