speaker blew

I need help on this. I bought an audiobahn aw1200q from a local audio store about 3 months ago. Recently i put it in a ported box and upgraded my old amp to a new jbl bp 600.1. The amp pumps out 600 rms, and the sub handles 700. Well 2 nights ago the sub blew. Y would this blow, i dont use bass boost and idont turn my stereo up past 1/2 volume?

What was the box tuned to? How big was it? Are you sure your gains were set properly?

ported box......JBL amp.....not a good mix.

i say that cuz JBL has no Subsonic filtter, is ur ported box prefrab ? do u kno what its tuned to?

That's what I was thinking, but it depends how high the box was tuned....

either the lack of a SSF, or the gain wasnt set correctly
