speaker blew me away

okay so i set the gain on my amp for my infinity refernce 4x6 plates. i used a 1 khz test tone and ,its a kx100.2 wired to a 2 ohm load, and i figured the volts was 14.14 right? well i set it there and my god those speakers were so f*in loud it blew me away. it scared me so i set the gains down to were i had them. should i go to a 4/8 ohm with them??? thanks for your help.

set the gains properly and don't turn the volume up as much?

i did the gains right and i disconnected them. i was just woundering if anybody did this and was surprised by it and truned there gains down to be safe

You should have done it at 4 ohms.. because you are using a 4 ohm speaker.

okay cool il wire them a 4 ohms then set v to 20 with a 1 khz test tone
