Spacing alternator pulley?

I'mPoor:(

So i got my mechman alternator in and we can mount it, but the pulley is not lining up with the serpentine system. I need the pulley to be either 4 grooves bigger or a large spacer to push it out more so the belt lines up with the alternator pulley. Please need urgent help with this. Ideas?? Thanks guys.

I cannot space the whole alternator itself. Only the pulley****

are you saying you need about 1/4 more ?

i dont think you can use a spacer as most alts do not have a long shaft. you need to space the hole alt. out.

if you dont mind shaving the mounting lugs on the alt. you may get it lined up.

you need to post a pic with the alt on the car.

I took it off already because i couldnt drive it lol. I need between 1/3 and 1/2 inches of space for the pulley to line up. The alternator mounts on the inside of the car bracket itself. If it mounted on the outside we could space it, but it doesnt. Could i just get a 10 groove pulley and put it on to make up for the missing pulley length?

no dont do that..... as i can and will skip and could snap your belt.

you ether need to mod your alt. or bracket to fit it.

or

sell what you have and get one that fits your car.

do not put a longer pulley on it.

plus there no telling if that longer pulley is the right match for your belt specs.
