My wonderful wife just bought me a set of soundqubed hdc310 d1s for my birthday. Just wanted to share. It will be my 50th. What would be a good size for a box? Hoping I can get by with 3.5cuft, with maybe 32hrtz tuning. For those who may know, is that a big enough enclosure for these subs?

Sell them and buy life insurance...

Haha anyway 3.5-4.2cuft would be good on 32-34hz with 2-2.5k watts should do you well.

Just watch that the hdc subs dont bottom out as the hdc subs dont like to much excursion.

1.75-2 net per is ideal. I have mine at 2 net 20" port per (yes very large) and yeah, it slaps lol. Holler if you need a box man. I'll hook you up.......

So did you ask for the pair of subs or she just picked whatever she wanted to order?

She asked. But she does understand, a little bit, how addictive this stuff is. But she is really glad that this my only vice, to the point if I have a little mad money it usually goes into the car audios, and she is fine with it, at least if the bills are caught up anyway.

I had 2 in 3.5 cubes net tuned to 35 on an AQ3500 in my Lightning. It was great for 10s.

Those subs are designed to tune higher than 32. Tune high 30's and use subsonic filter.

Yeah, I thought they sounded ok in the box I had that was tuned lower. They really did good in a 37 hz box as opposed to the 32 hz. I'm speaking of the 12s.

When I first started looking at these, I sent an email about tuning freqs, and was told that if the box was on the large side, it could be tuned in low 30s. This was shortly after the change in name, and the reconfigure of the subs from hd3 to hdc3.
