Soundigital 8k Tuning Problem

Does anyone have any problems with SounDigital amps being like literally impossible to tune without sounding weird?

My friend and I spent literally 3 hours with a Maxxlink trying to tune this thing with slight results. The best way I can describe it is that the subs sound like the bass can't escape and at high volumes, they start to wobble like they are playing notes that they shouldn't.

I am about to send it in to get checked out but if this is just a common problem I can fix, I'd rather do that. Has anyone had this issue?

Without the maxxlink we get voices in. We are using the maxxlink for the 24db crossover, because the soundigitals built-in filter isn't that helpful because of it being a full-range amp. We just can't get it to sound as good and loud as the atomic. I've tried **** near everything i could think of, he picked up the maxxlink just so he'd have something to set externally and counting on it being a better filter than the built-in one.

With out the maxx link you are getting voices into the subwoofers. Let me get this right you hear voices out of the subs. Then you have somthing wrong up front. Were is the RCA's coming from. The head unit I assume. Are you sure you have the plugged into the Sub output of your headunit.

I've tried the amp in 2 different cars. The LPF on it just doesn't go low enough because its a 12db crossover so we use the Maxxlink for more control for tuning. However, all the things we have tried haven't seemed to work to make it sound right
