what are some of the better ones out there and what are the cheaper ones?

I used Dynamt Xtreme, and I've got nothing but good things to say about it. Seems everybody loves SecondSkin products also.

In general, try to stick to butyl and avoid asphalt

Don (or Rudy), has been testing sound deadener for years. With the knowledge he's gained, he went out and started selling his own products. However, read over the archived version of his site, it has a lot of useful information.

Go to ebay if you want to see many different brands, u are going to find what people think are the best on here, only because it is what they used...Sounddeadenershowdown is going to be one of your best bets IMO because his products rock...

I think a good minimum for deadening mat is 1.5 times the total square feet you plan to treat.

Its a marketing gimmick....
