sound stops when windows are locked. what could it be

just bought this car and when I push the windows lock button the sound goes completely out. also when I open the driver side the speaker in the panel goes on and off, and if the volume is turned down real low the passenger speaker will go out until volume increased. what could be the cause? I have no amp and just the front speakers and alpine headunit

Could be several things, likely poor wiring though.

What kind of car do you have?

You posted it in many sections. This is what I meant.

If you thought of the fact it is a wire issue, then the next step is to track it down. Not post on a forum where we can not see how good/bad the wiring is in your application. If you are not sure then taking it to a shop to have it fixed would be the next best option.

If you need a list of what to check..then here.

1. Pull the head unit out and verify it is connected properly and to the correct wires.

2. Check you speaker wire connections at each door to verify they are correct and secure.

already done all that. pulled hu out checked wires checked speakers nothing looks wrong. but thanks anyway.

If the wiring is ok, then the next idea would be to swap the heady it with another, if you can. If the issue persists then you know its in the truck and not the unit.
