Sound Splinter RL-i-10

The link you sent me in teh PM gave these:
Butterworth / Sealed

0.21 cu ft net volume

Quasi Bessel / Sealed

0.75 cu ft net volume

Enhanced Q / Sealed

0.094 cu ft net volume

What will the variations in sound be if I make the box 1 cu ft instead of .75 cu ft?

I suspect the sub will have less output but be a little more accurate..

this is the graph from the soundsplinter site>>

Yea, but you're going to have an F3 of probably 80hz or so with the RL-i.

This means that the music will be 3dB quieter at 80hz than it was at 100hz. In a car, cabin gain will help bring out the low end more but an 80hz F3 is pretty high, even when putting a sub in a car's enviroment.

And having at least respectable low frequency extension isn't SQ?

The RL-i 10 I heard had no low end sealed. It sounded decent but anything below 45hz just died and had no impact. The install was not for high output but it just didn't sound very nice at all. Even if the only music played is soft rock, the music will have a better presence with a sub with an F3 around 50-60hz.

Oh okay..

Well it's either between the 10" TC-1000 and the 10" or 12" IDQ..

I don't know what amp I'm going to use but I'm think just a JL 250/1. What sub would match up the best with the Amp?
