Sound Quality of Speaker Wire !?!?!??!?!??!?!??!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?

X2
and its probably all bullshit anyway....

an explaination as to why different wire sounds better shouldn't need a 3 page writeup, unless its just a load of crap, attempting to look smart //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Go back to CAF, or better yet find some damm australian forum where they can be in awe of your knowledge.

as was already said, if you dont read it, you cant comment on it.

I see a disturbing trend ..... Many of you are laying scientific proven research aside , and believe instead the things you have heard in passing , or something you believe to me correct basedd on nothing but ..... your imagination.

The papers I posted are NOT sales papers of ANY kind , but instead company research white papers.

The shame of it is , with your " I already know it all attitudes " and your propensity to disbelieve EVERYTHING ..... You show your ignorance. you also show NO hope of ever learning any REAL knowledge of value.

Go on believing in your made up beliefs instead of the facts , but your system will NEVER sound as good as it could if you were to step off of your idiot poles and start opening your minds .....

I'd take HeloTaxi's word anyday of the week over yours.
That's not meant to be offensive, just a statement.

You shouldn't take EITHER of our words , but learn for yourself through research and experience. This isn't a personal feeling matter , it is scientific. I have backed my knowledge base up with just one of COUNTLESS bits of research i've been doing since 1982 .... Where is the rest of your beliefs proof ?

I'm through with this thread .... Say whatever you want to , but know this :

The ones who are of the " all things sound the same " camp , will NEVER have as good of a system as you could if you would open your mind and learn.

Good Luck !

Are you an Engineer?
I'm well on my way to becoming one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif...

Also ... Good for you man ! Hope you design us some kick butt audio one day !

I myself have never designed any gear from scratch , but have modded the stinkin crap out of things before. I made a $500 NAD CD Player smoke a $3500 Linn .... Of course I ended up with about $800 in parts in the NAD ... LOL

Havolen , Vishay , Caddock , Cardas , ect ....

Or maybe our systems will sound equally good, however your belief in certain possible non-truths allows you to believe that your system sounds subjectively "better" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

It really only comes down to RLC analysis. For any two cables to sound different, there will have to be an audible difference in their RLC properties (R = resistance, L = inductance, C = capacitance). If the differences in the RLC properties are within inaudible tolerances, they will sound identical.

Now, does that mean all cables sound the same? Hell no.

What it does mean though, is that we know what specific differences must exist for two cables to sound different, and we can measure for those differences. And, the chances are very high that the majority of cables on the market will have inaudible differences in their RLC properties, meaning they will sound the same. If the two cables sound different, we can measure the difference. If it doesn't affect the RLC, it's just marketing.

When dealing with conducting metals one really needs to consider oxygen content though often it is overlooked. Most metals used in comercial wiring has a number of oxides contained therein and the oxides are also present on the surface of individual strands. As we all know oxygen cannot conduct electricity. High AgO and CuO content are very bad for conductance. The E0 for both metals is very similar but 47Ag is better than 29Cu, because it is more electron rich in the Au0 state than Cu is in the Cu0 state. We all know this from trends in the periodic table as taught in general chemistry. Now for other metal impurities. Most of us know that there are a number of isotopes for each metal and Cu and Ag are no different. In addition, most metals exist in nature as alloys depending on the type of manufacturing process employed one could easily sell 70% Cu or Ag as feedstock for isotropic extrusion or impact modification based manufacturing processes. All of the impurities associated with the conductors are evidenced by resistance. The more you have in a given length of wire the less efficient the wire will be to transfer of your signal. Also metals have frequencies which they characteristically absorb, and therefore inefficiently transfer. In the lab where it is critical we use pure gold or platinum for our wiring. By now my day job is probably too evident and I am going to shut up.

Decided it's about time to stop by here eh? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif...
I get monster cable @ huge discounts too, but still don't use it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif...
