Sound Imaging using Rt/Lt gains... ??????

On my audiocontrol three.1 there are right and left gains....

is it a bad idea to use these gains to help image the car better?

I just started messing with them and I can get the speakers to sound much more centered if I do this.... but I dont know if this will mess the speakers up in the long run....

my gut feeling is this is fine but I wanna make sure...

Sure, but make sure it is only after you've tuned the left and the right side first - only then should you start setting the overall average level.

hmmm.... Im not really fond of the wording here so let me tell you what I have done...

I have xxx6.5s and the aura tweets from DesertHeat... the Three.1 goes to an active crossover, and then it is amplified... the amplifier has the 1 gain knob and the Three.1 has a left and right gain knob....

I am wondering if I set the gain on the amplifier and use the left and right gains on the Three.1 for imaging if this is going to prove to be damaging?
