Well my stock hu sends out a low level 4 channel (8 speaker wires basically) to the stock amp to power the 4 door speakers. I was wondering if taking these preamp hu outputs and going into the speaker level inputs on my aftermarket amp would be an issue. (rather than splicing all 8 wires into rca's)

No, it shouldn't be an issue except for the possibility that the voltage is not high enough on those outputs to drive the amp to full power.

Thats kind of what I thought, but I wasnt sure becasue everyone is all about the rca low levels and well I can't do that with the stock hu. At least I can still get the signal pre-amp instead of going speakerlevel in right after the stock amp. Thanks

Ive never seen or heard of anyone splicing the speaker outputs into RCA cables ???

Well in my car the hu sends unamplified audio signal using 8 wires +/- for all 4 door speakers to the stock amp. So if my aftermarket amp didn't have speaker level ins I would have to splice these 8 wires into rca's to grab the low level signal. I suppose a loc would do the same thing but i would just be using it as a speakerwire to rca converter since it wouldnt really be converting any signal. I think this makes sense, correct me if I'm wrong...

Yeah but, I have a lincoln aviator with the stock navigation. so a. I like the hu, it looks nice and fits behind the cover. b. I would lose all the steering wheel controls, ie voice commands, volume, channel changing, gps voice. c. I want to keep it as stock as possible because I don't know how long i'm going to hold on to it.

yeah i mentioned that, but im not really converting anything, its already low level, so it would just be an adapter really, speakerwires -> rca so I think going into the speaker level inputs on my aftermarket would have the same effect as an outside LOC. quality wise anyhow...
