I have a 1999 Dodge Caravan and want to sound deaden my entire vehicle. I plan on buying fat mat to do the deadening. I just wanna know how layers i should do and how much would i need???

Personally, I wouldn't use fatmat. Smells bad and is asphalt based. Check out http://sounddeadenershowdown.com/

I used 100sq ft in a Subaru Impreza for one layer (used b-quiet ultimate). You'll probably need 300 sq ft for a good cover in a minivan.

Probably a lot for a van. just measure, a 12" x 12" spot equals 1 sq ft

I like fatmat. But mine doesn't smell..lol. Anyway, maybe 150~200sq ft will cover everything (including headliner) for 1 layer. 100 square feet did everything except under the seats in my jeep. I'm sure your van can't be that much bigge.r I'd say get you 200sq feet, and be liberal with the doors.

lowes sells peal-n-seal.. you should use that for your van. it will gin you +3db's if done right with peal-n-seal..

I've only got 36sqft of Second Skin Audio's Damplifier Pro on the sides and floor of my trunk and can notice a HUGE difference. Great stuff. If you're looking for something more affordable I've heard RAAMmat does good things.

Yes. Like the panty thief said if you're going to stoop to FatMat you might as well throw roofing material in your trunk.

I have a Corolla and I've used 120sq ft to cover inner front doors, trunk and rear deck. I plan on using another 30 sq feet to further deaden my doors (multiple outer layers).

I think you'd need at least 250 if you want to cover the entire van.

I want the best sound deadener but for a cheap price. For now i am going to just deaden the hatch and back half of my van. Im think probably 100 sq ft to do that. What would be the best deadener to buy with about a $150 budget.

**remember though, fatmat is definatly not going to be the quality of damplifier or raamat so dont think that, because you honestly get what you pay for(for instance you could double up the fatmat and itd be about the same)**
