Sound deadener thread

Sorry to start an unnecessary thread but I just want to compliment my installer guy's skill and thoroughness with installing the Damplifier Pro I bought! I don't work for or have any any financial interest in Second Skin (makers of Damplifier panel deadeners), I am just wholly enamored with this whole sound deadening thing, just with my driver's, passenger's and one side door done with Damplifier Pro, and we still have Luxury Liner to apply next week when the spray adhesive gets to me!

Just a newbie's enthusiasm at discovering cool stuff I'm sure you all know about. I never had a sound deadened car before, this is COOL!

Back in the late 90s when I first started messing around with car audio, I installed dynamat and dynaliner max in my front doors and I couldn't believe how much more bass I got from my Alpine head unit powered Boston Acoustic Pro 6.4 woofers... Some of my friends thought I had a sub in the car. I attribute it mostly to the dynaliner max which had a layer of lead in it, which is similar to todays dynapad, without the lead layer, from the same company, basically MLV/CCF all in one sound blocker.

A lot of things have changed since then and there are many companies who make "deadeners" now but I found some good reading on this website:
