I'm looking into getting this for my car, but wanted to find out if anybody on here has used it and how it compares to other sound dampeners. I tried using the search but it isn't working for me. Please only reply if you've actually used it or know firsthand about it.

GO here to read my full writeup on my expirience with don and his products:

------------------------------------------------------------

I have used his products and I have not used everyone elses stuff... other than dynamat extreme. What I did in the past was completely wrong, what don helped me achieve was completely right, AND I saved a ton of time, work and MONEY. He sells you what you need and tells you how to apply it. He is one of the most knowledgeable people in this industry....hands down he has done his homework.

Don't even look into other sound deadening solutions. Trust me...read my writeup and ask me any questions...You should have questions because this can be a tedious task to tackle.

I've been meaning to do a writeup on his products for a while now, just haven't gotten around to it

Having used the worts of the worst (fatmat, peel n' seal, ect) and used the supposed best of the best (Cascade, SS, Dynamat) I would rank this right up there with the best of them

I could go on and on about how well his products worked for my application and how helpful Don is in assisting you with whatever your working on, but I don't feel like writing for an hour. His products are great, customer service is among the best I've dealt with and the prices are very reasonable aswell

You can't go wrong with his stuff. FYI that butyl rope makes an EXCELLENT decoupler for mounting speakers/baffles to doors.

Yeah, I forgot to say how great his customer service is. I know he is coming out with some new products too. I cannot wait for those as well. That velcro stuff is strong as hell. I used it for everything.

I can't add anything that hasn't already been stated. SDS has great products and is backed by an owner that knows what he's doing.

His tiles work great. The foil is nice and thick to help reduce resonance, but not too thick as it still conforms to nicely.

The foam and mass loaded vinyl is of high quality and the butyl rope has many misc uses.

Its funny after reading through Don's site and using some of the CLD tiles then getting an email from SS saying they have a new product called SPL tiles. Specs are exactly the same. hehe. However, the 25% coverage was not suggested.

I appreciate the responses guys. I'm deciding between SDS & SS. I have read Don's website a few times and understand the theory. I've had some engineering, physics, & acoustics courses so I have a good grasp on what he's doing. I'm all about working smarter, not harder.

Is the car an Evo?

SDS is good stuff as i was looking for something to work on my doors as there hard to work in. I used the 25% theory and it works as my truck sounds awesome. It def made the cheap componets that i have sound great.
