Second Skin is easily better than Dynamat. Equally effective (if not more so), and much cheaper. I can't wait to get my hands on some STFU-80 (hint, hint ant //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif).

dynamat is a ****ing ripoff why waste money on that. i have edead and its great. Id go with edead or Second Skin.

What he said!! You can get WAY WAY MORE of eDead or Second Skin for less than you would spend on the Dynamat. And there are alot more choices for different applications between the two.

The sound deadining items both eD and SS offer are equal too or most likely better than that of dynamat. Dynamat is good stuff but has more than wore out its welcome with the outragouse prices. I mean A person could do an entire car with one of these other brands for the price it would take them to just do a decent trunk job with Dynamat. What gives? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif

McMaster-Carr industrial supply.

In the search field enter 'high temp mastic'.

Viscoelastic Asphalt sheets (ie: dynamat) 24" x 54"

$22.50

Last time I deadened a car and checked prices, that was about 20% the price of Dynamat, for the -exact same- stuff (without the blue dynamat emblem).

They also have aluminum backed sheets cheap.

Dont say nobody told ya.

Will it stick to my roof, even in 90+ degree heat?

here is the skinny

Asphalt dampers are good, however they rely on either a rubber or acrylics bassed PSA (pressure sensitive adhesive) to stick to panels.

Dynamate xtreme, bq, ss etc all use the bitumen in the constraint layer to stick. no seperate glue.

the bitumen sticks better and resists heat better. both are good dampers however the bitumen bassed ones are better as far as noise and vibration reduction go

hope this helps

Hmm...

Cascade VB-1 would be my first choice for sure. It is basically a paste you apply yourself, where you want to. Once cured VB-1 is lighter and has 3x the damping of any asphaltic sheet material. You can use it on just about anything. I think they sell it in 1 gal and 5 buckets.

Brownbread works very well.

Never seen anyone here with e-Dead but I've heard a few people complain that it doesn't stick as well as other products.

Also check out RAAMmat60. a friend of mine did over 80% of his 98 2dr Blazer with less than $100 worth.
