Sound cutting in/out distorted, with sound processor

i'm using a alpine cva-1005 headunit which is an older flipout with a brain and have it hooked up to a PXA-H510 which is a alpine digital audio processor and right now the sound is cutting in out randomly and sounds distorted, almost sounds like static or even a radio channel that isn't coming in clearly. Speakers are wired to a 4 channel alpine amp(mrp-f240) then to the processor.

any other suggestions? i'm not so sure its a bad ground
Thats usually the reason for the signal sounding bad/distorted after a signal processor. Also if its cutting in and out it's probably not a very solid connection so once in a while it gets grounded and at other times it isnt.

can't be the rca and power wire since i have the power wire ran under my truck. But another thing is that the subs don't go quiet or sound distorted when it does this, the sub amp is wired to the processor as well. i'll double check all grounds and get back
