Sound cut off

Hi guys, I just installed new speakers and a cd deck, and everything was working fine and dandy for a little while. I was driving and turned the volume up a little (about 36 out of 50), the speakers weren't breaking up, but then all audio just cut out. The cd deck was still going, but there was no sound at all. The fuse on the cd deck is still good and I can't imagine all 4 speakers blowing out simultaneously. Any suggestions?
