Well here's an update on the kv.2's that were supposed to ship July 1st.

Quote:

umm, bad news guys, latest word I've heared is this:

"at this time unfortunately we still don?t have a definite date for the Kv.2?s to arrive but we are now told early August. Hopefully we will have a definite date very soon. The delay is due to a world wide shortage of steel, they are just waiting for a couple parts to arrive. Quote:

Maybe we should ask other speaker companies if they're having problems getting steel.

Quote:

FYI...

I spoke with tech support this morning, and they said the parts are on a boat right now headed towards the US. They said overseas shipping takes a few weeks, and customs can take from 1 day to two weeks. So realistically speaking, id say at least another month till the kv.2's ship. Quote:

Sounds like they are buying time to me.

Quote:

"I called em today and talked to Jeremy, he said that the steel's on the way. It all depends on when it gets here is when they'll be shipped. He said that it's just a day or two AFTER they recieve the stel to finish making them. So AROUND THE SECOND WEEK IN AUGUST. I said AROUND so don't say IT IS mid August, lol.

BTW, I was once again reminded of the excellent customer service eD has, I talked on the phone with him for a bout 10 mins and he was friendly the whole time. Ever called a mainstream comp like Kicker or someone like that? They treat you like a CC company does, lol."Quote:

I bet the boat will break down on the way over and have to be docked for repair which could take 1 month to get fixed

um this eD shit is DUMB the company is a good company, maybe people just dont like ben for other reasons and started stupid shit on him, the rep i talk to is a friendly guy, and VERY informative/smart on the products. i believe what he says

Agreed. People seem to think they are lying about the steel shortage. If they were trying to buy time by lying, they would come up with something better than that I'm sure. Fact is, it was a preorder and these situations arise, thats why people got such a good deal and, IMO, shouldnt be complaining. Sure it sucks not knowing when your stuff will come, but hey, I guess you shoulda gone to your local shop where you know you can get your stuff same day.

No, they lie about a steel shortage when ANOTHER company comes out and basically says:

"We ordered, and received, a truckload of motors from China. There is NO steel shortage there."

Sorry to be rude but OBVIOUSLY!!!! Christ if there was a country wide steel shortage, it would be HEADLINES!!! Chirst lets use our heads here. I'm sure ED wouldnt mind explaining to you the details but my guess is the specific supplier that EDs buildhouse gets its steel from is suffering from some production decrease and cant keep up with its own demand. Not the entire **** country...

Again, I dont know the details, but why they would lie by saying an entire country is under a steel shortage sounds kinda stupid eh?

It has nothing to do with being nice. Their expected shipping dates are way too far off. They are going to be off by over 1 month probably closer to two. Last time they were a month off. Let's say you call a clothing store and ask them when they will have some new item in. They tell you well you can pre-order and we expect to have the item by July 1st 2004. They are very nice. You call them July 1st 2004 to find the item is still not at the store they say it should ship mid july. Then you call back mid july to tell you it's really hard to get the cotton to make the shirts right now haven't you heard on the news how all t-shirts companies are struggling to get cotton right now and even more than just t-shirt companies it's all companies that use cotton that are having problems. But if this were the case I believe I would have saw something on the news stating all companies that are using cotton are struggling at this time. Rather than make up these excuses why not state that you don't expect to have the product until September? The reason why is a matter of mental games. They don't want to tell you thise because you wouldn't place an order. But if they can get you to order and then tell you that the product will be ready 2 weeks late you will say that you can wait 2 weeks. Then you create another excuse of why it will be more than 2 weeks late and people will accept this excuse because it is reasonable for the speaker to not be ready if they can't get the materials. The excuses will continue until the product is ready to ship.

All I am saying is they've done it before. I've been on the preorder list. I've been delayed. ~2 months actually. No excuse for it anymore. Don't take orders when you can't get the product out when you say you will. Simple as that.

Do you not think they are doing everything they can to get their products out? I mean why wouldnt they be? Whatever is slowing things up is out of their control and unfortunate, but deal with it, this stuff happens.

IT WAS A ****ING PREORDER!!!!! GOD **** YOU ARE MAKING ME TYPE IN CAPS!

You got a freakin amazing deal ONLY because it was a preorder and these things sometimes happen with ANY preorder. It was an EXPECTED ship date. Not a set in stone date. Nobody seems to understand what a preorder is...
