I have it too and to be honest I have had a few newer rides plus when I tested out the new cars when I was looking it is the best I have heard to date besides the Pioneer sound system in the SS cobalt. Was better than the Gti's, civics and the suzukis. I have audiophile in mine, but never got the system with the woofer, just didnt want to since I was going to put my aftermarket system in it. Anyway, AMP your factory highs. I am friggin amazed with the sound from amping them. I am running about 50rms to each and they sound great. So great I am thinking of selling my 5.25 Alpine SPX' componet set, lol! I mean they sound just as good to me. I know it sounds crazy, but trust me on this and give it a try.

Also yes the Sonys dont sound bad at low volumes, it when you blast it they ****!

well i took a limo, along w/ 10 other ppl, to senior ball and the sound system accually sounded nice there were two sony xplodes 6.5" that were visable and there was a sony xplode pentagon in the back (i think 12") and at low volumes it sounded pretty nice now ive heard them be4 and they sounded like crap, was it the box or are they good at low volumes or what?

I now know you go to Amador, is this correct?

the limo in danville that i took to my brothers wedding had an alpine deck with hella boston 6.5" component set. didnt know or care what they had for power, but it sounded good for a excursion limo party wagon.

Sony is not THAT bad, like you have been led to believe. The majority of those saying "sony is shit" have either never heard sony in a good install or are just repeating what others have said. Yes, in a decent install, sony can sound quite good... People all too often put their emphasis on equipment, and I all too often see threads asking about "whats best?"- between 5 subs of similar quality... then everyone gets in a heated argument over specs and "whats slightly better" instead of stopping to think, 'any of these can sound good in a good install.'

^^^ -- So true. I've seen a few of the higher line Sonys put in a nice custom ported box, they bumped. What most people hear are the bottom line crappers in a cheap prefab bandpass. They are pretty decent.

I'll say true to you for your last statement. But im sorry, everyone and their half uncle whos been in the funeral business has Xplod subs at my school. For the money they spend, the time they use to build proper and fantastic boxes, the xplods never sound any good. Ill say their hu's are a different story but those subs are horrible. Sony subs also kinda sound like logitech home computer speakers, not loud but boomy/muggy, making people thing they are loud.

P.S including their higher line. just stop it.
