i know it has been recalled, the recall wasnt that serious. The only thing you need to worry about is installing the amp exactly as the directions tell you, if you dont, you may have some problems with electrical stuff in your car. They werent actaully any accounts of a cars electrical system getting messed up, but there were acounts of the amp not working porperly if it wasnt installed the exact way it was supposed to.
And ne ways, i have the reciept and the warranty which are still good, so if you want, you can do what you need to do, i would have, but with me building my crx for racing, i haven't had ne need for these, so i never got ne thing done for the recall
