my friend just bought a 12" solobarioc L5 and Profile California amp and a wiring kit from http://www.knukonceptz.com, you can get the profile amp for pretty cheap and its still pretty good......http://thezeb.com/caraudio/profile.html.......scroll down to the california amps, all together it cost him pretty cheap and he got the sub from ebay which was cheap too, and build your own box and it shud be pretty loud and its a nice set-up for a decent amount of money....

well i got it for under 250 but good luck finding another deal like that on that deck. it's amazing how low they can go since they are considered "old"

But the xplod cdx-m800 has a 7 band equalizer, while these ur mentioning only have a 3 band. and something of equal price still only has a 3 band. not only that but it has a really nice lcd display that can play those little videos, and it has a removable and motorized faceplate. the xplod just sounds like a nicer cd player for the money. i dunno how reliable it is or how well it plays cds, so if you have any experience with THIS model or the cdx-m630 or cdx-m730. thank you

started with a sony h/u, never again will i touch them. if that isn't enough then i'd go with the p350 b/c it's a bad *** h/u, now if you want to spend a lil more than 150 for a deck look into like an older nak h/u or maybe the 4500 by pioneer. lemme know if your interested in the USX 4065 man.

PLEASE listen to advice on here man! Obviously you came here for a reason...you want advice from people who know what they're talking about. So, when u ask and get answers back...listen to them...those mentioned are good recommendations.

JMAC's picks would be GREAT...and that's even with an amazing set of component speaker for up front.

i'd save a little more and do it right the first time...

My dad told me that i should have two amps, one for the subs and cd player, and one for the speakers to keep it "balanced." is this necessary? does it make much difference in sound quality?

well, it does make a difference in SQ. the setups that jmac listed and that i listed...include amp for speakers and subs. in jmacs list...was a 4 channel amp...use channel 1&2 for front speakers and bridge the 3&4 channels to power ur sub.

In my list...the usx2080 is for front component speakers...and the jbl600.1 is for the sub. Amplified front speakers allow for cleaner sound...and the component system listed has separate midbass and tweeters w/ an external crossover. this gives even better advantage over coaxial speakers where the tweeter is mounted on a pole through the woofer.
