Sony getting into the SQ game

So I'm not sure how long these products have been out but Sony seems to be going for the hi res crowd. They have a new receiver that plays back DSD native files in pure losses form and it's the most expensive part of the system at $1499.99 They also have a pair of components and coaxial speakers with their new super tweeter and a subwoofer along with a 4 channel and mono block amp. All of the rest of the components seem to be priced very low in the 150.00 - 200.00 range per item. I was thinking of building a system around this. Wasn't sure if anyone has herd of it yet. Anyway here is the links to see the products.

Way back in the day they made some nice source units. One of the earliest ones I ever had with time alignment. The "big red" series of amps is pretty well regarded too.

At that price point for a source unit it had pretty much better blow you though.

It is good for the industry if a big name tries to improve their offerings in terms of quality and performance. Their new top tier deck is really something special and I want to find a way to afford it.

I am glad too see Sony return to making good quality equipment. The old 1990's Mobile ES amps, crossovers, E.Q's, and head units were some of the best made at that time.

Oh? So where am I wrong? It plays flac. That's its selling point. It's not a processor.
It converts digital to analog and provides time alignment, equalization & crossover points. Signal to noise @ 120dB and dynamic range of 135dB with optical out. Precision clock with targeted low jitter performance.
What qualifies as a processor in your view?
