Something wrong with my Type R?

Umm.. Got a real good ground? On bare metal body/chassis at least? are there any 'frayed' wires that go into the amp terminals that could be touching things they arent supposed to? ie: A power wire touching the frame of the amp/other terminals? How are the gains?

take pix of your capacator. we wana see the wires going in and out of it,

and how they are hooked to it.

find your ground wire. - I bet its not grounded to a good spot - nor is it sanded to metal.

take pix of your car battery - and how the power wire is hooked to it

a faulty conection here will definately give you a headake - just like a bad ground.

also,

if I were you, I would go back to the shop and have them un hook the "capasator / cap "

its not needed, and is causing you problems right now I believe. expecialy if its a cheap o.

heres a pic of the pdx controls:

get a small flat head screw driver. gently turn this knob the direction pointed to.

this will turn your gain down.

gain acts like a volume knob on the amplifier for a eazy explination of it.

yours is turned up soo high it is causing bad things.

turn it all the way down, play music in your car at a good listening level,

and verry slowly turn the gain knob back up, until you hear the desired boom

from your subs. remember more is not always better. it should sound good.

it should not sound like a pack of lamas farting up a storm in your trunk.

if you get it up to distortion level, back it off some.

yea my bad, we tried turning it and it was maxed out...but still turning off even when we turned it town half way

sub is wired correctly, doesnt matter which coil you have your negative on, or positive on... as long as you choose a negative and a positive. the jumpers are already connecting the coils lol.

like said above, keep the gain under half for now (you can set it properly later on, we can show you that too). double check the ground like said above, follow the ground wire from the amp and see where it goes. take a pic of were it connects to the vehicle if you can.
