Something wrong with my Type R?

I was looking at the specs for his amp. Is it a typo, or does that amp do 1000watts at 2 and 4 ohm? Doesn't seem right, whatever the case.

Hmm.. An 80+ amp fuse should suffice for that amp. And you aren't running below 2-Ohms so.. Maybe check to see if you're grounding out somewhere? That wouldn't be volume dependant though.. Gains out of whack? Got me scratchin' my head.

No, those Alpine's will do the same at both 2- and 4-Ohms.

k heres a a little update:

No, those Alpine's will do the same at both 2- and 4-Ohms.

your problem is that they maybe wired it wrong and everytime you play it at high volumes or some it causes your amp to go to protect mode(meaning too low on ohm load)....might wanna wired it diffrent and see if anything changes...

can you give me an example of them wiring it wrong? Cause i wanna be able to tell them this lol

This is the problem with having your stuff installed. Too many unanswerable questions.

Like stated above, pull your sub and check how it is wired, or if a wire came loose.

Also when you pull it out take a pic of how its wired... and confirm that indeed it is a dual 4...

try ditching the cap,there was a guy on here awhile back that had a similar problem,he tried it without the cap and it WORKED.
