something better than 9835

I'm looking to upgrade my deck. I want something better in the SQ deparment. How is the eclipse 8445 compare with the 9835? I am also consider the mcintosh mx406 but it's lack of features. I have the 8445 and it is superb! As far as SQ goes, eclipse and alpine are at the top of the heap. I have been an Eclipse user for some 10 yrs or so and the 05 models are way better than last years.

With the Eclipse 8445 you get:

8 volt pre-out........pretty **** close to rms.

Excellent SQ

7 ban P EQ, time alignment

much better XO's than Alpine IMO

Memory stick function

ESN security, which will replace the HU if stolen within the first year. I can vouch for that one.

unsurpassed reliability. I've had problem with an Alpine 9815 and 9830.

DSP function for Eclipse 8445 8455. It really does add another element to the SQ

Even the entry level models Eclipse is offering has way more features than anyone is offering.......i should have said, useable features. If your into eye candy then you prob want to go with pioneer or pany.

The 9835 is a solid deck as well, there's no denying that. If you really want to upgrade into something comparable or "better" subjective term, then you will be very happy with Eclipse.

for eclipse it's $ 500 on ebay which is fine to me

i can pretty much get a used mcintosh mx406 @ that price range
