someone ever made a box of steel/metal?

i have started to build a box out of stainless steel, but im a little worried that it will have some strange noices, i have seen many build in pvc pipes with good results.. this is how it will looks for now, i will have a aeroport of stainless on it too, and i will highglossypolish it when it´s done..

btw it´s 1,4cuft and i will use a 5" aero tuned to 45hz

I have no idea why, but I could somehow tell from your picture that you live in Europe. It just....looks...European. Maybe it's how oddly green the grass is or something.

If you make all the surfaces stiff enough (either through the use of braces or curves or shear material strength) so that the resonant frequancy of any one panel is higher than the highest frequency you intend to use the sub at then you shouldn't have any weird noises, and applies no matter what the enclosure is made of.

You can tune that big *** pipe with a smaller pipe.. I'm not all that familiar w/sonotubes, but you could ask around.. it's very possible.

Dunno how it'd sound though in metal.. lol.

a big db drag competitor over in europe used 2 plates of steel and concrete between them for his box.
