Hey Guys First off i wanna say hello im new to the forums.

Now i have a 4 channel amp from Phoenix Gold http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/3149.html

and these subs.

http://uk.shopping.com/xPF-Phoenix-Gold-Phoenix-Gold-Octane-ZR-10D2-Subwoofer

Now how can i wire those subs to my amp safely. because the guy at futureshop installed the subs for me but. by the looks of it they wired the 2 voice coils of each sub to eacother then connected 1 sub to( front left -) and (bridge +) and the other sub (Front right -) and (bridge -)

Like what does that all mean im confused..loflis there another way to wire them or what... my side of my amp looks like this sorta..

SPEAKERS

FRONT L+ L- R+ R-

__ __ __ __

REAR __ __ __ __

+ BRIDGED -

Thanks alot guys

To answer your question, you need to tell us exactly how the installer wired the voice coils on each sub. eg (+ to -, + to -) (+ to +, - to -).

Then we can answer your question. Your amp is 4 ohm stable in the bridge mode, so your installer should have wired the voice coils ( + to -, + to -)which is called series, otherwise your amp is working outside it's design parameters and could fail.

from the terminals on my box to my speaker terminals on the amp, lok to be + to + and - to - but ill double check inside my box cause maybe the guy switched them in side.

You will have to remove the subs from the box to check the connections I've described. They are made on the actual subwoofer terminals themselves, not the amp's.

thanks

ok i just removed the subs and they wired the negative coils to eachother and the possitives to eachother. so + to + and - to -

and then obviously from the box to the amp its the same - to - and + to + so i guess thats Parallel right?..

sorry if i sound like an idiot but im so new at this car audio stuff..but i really am greatfull for your help.

Go back to the installer and tell him he should have wired it series. show him the specs of your amp. he has it wired for a 2 ohm load, and your amp is 4 ohm stable.

If your amp blows the shop should have to replace it.
