1.) what other subs are comparable to the 12" rl-p for $200 and under?

2.) how much cabin gain can u get from the trunk of a car?

3.) what software programs are there for measuring the frequencies of bass notes? i asked someone else this, but i just wanna see if there are any others

4.) what increments can u cross over mids on comps? i.e. can you only cross them every 10Hz like in 50Hz, 60Hz, 70Hz or every 5Hz, etc?

5.) why are motors on subs inportant i.e. "this sub has a TC# motor on it" ??

6.) why are TC sounds subs so popular anyway?

7.) when is it comes to hearing and decibles, what number is it that you can definitely tell that its louder?? is it still 3dbs or 6dbs? i read it was 6dbs, but that was for when the sound is truly twice as loud as before, not just noticably louder

Most people will prolly tell you to //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/search.gif.e79a63b2b580b39b282dff402646b704.gif. Because Im sure some of these questions have been asked. Just a heads up

1 we talking new?

2. dunno, but fok trunks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

3. 1hz, id assume

5. Someone can definately give ya a better technical answer, but why's a cars engine so important //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

7 10db=twice as loud

what happened w/you and number 3 and 6??

1.) what other subs are comparable to the 12" rl-p for $200 and under?
A used Rl-p //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

2.) how much cabin gain can u get from the trunk of a car?
How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?

It depends on the type of car, etc.

Dave Navone or Tom Nuisaine(sp?) or someone did a test and found that the "average" car had a cabin gain of 12db/oct beginning at about 70hz. I think that was the average over a large range of different vehicle types.

3.) what software programs are there for measuring the frequencies of bass notes? i asked someone else this, but i just wanna see if there are any others
Couldn't tell you. Haven't ever really cared to obtain such a program.

4.) what increments can u cross over mids on comps? i.e. can you only cross them every 10Hz like in 50Hz, 60Hz, 70Hz or every 5Hz, etc?
Depends on the type of crossover.

Most analog crossovers that use potentiometers (like those on amplifiers, for example) are continuous variable, meaning you can set it to any frequency with the specified range.

Most digital processors (like those found in headunits, for example) have predetermined frequencies that must be selected from...i.e. 50hz, 63hz, 80hz.

5.) why are motors on subs inportant i.e. "this sub has a TC# motor on it" ??
Because the design of the motor is one of the most important aspects of a speaker and it's performance. For example, Bl distortion is one of the highest contributors to the total distortion of the subwoofer. Likewise a major contributor to Qes, which primarily dictates Qts, which has a large impact on the performance of the driver. Also the main determinant of things like excursion and power handling.

6.) why are TC sounds subs so popular anyway?
Good reputation for build quality and good, cost effective subwoofer designs.

7.) when is it comes to hearing and decibles, what number is it that you can definitely tell that its louder?? is it still 3dbs or 6dbs? i read it was 6dbs, but that was for when the sound is truly twice as loud as before, not just noticably louder
1db is supposed to be the smallest incriment of SPL change that is audible to humans.

Just realized I answered your other linked thread aswell.

Stop asking so many focking questions!

8.) if high SPL/deebeez/ good SQL set ups are all about installs, what does/sould the install consist of?

if it's because they built a really nice box, what makes they're box better than yours? is their MDF more woody than yours? are the edges sealed tighter than yours?

if it's the amp and they beat you in a comp by 1.3db's and both of you are using 2400 watts and using the same everything, what makes their 2400 watts more powerful than yours?

let me know please.

8 - not just a comp setup any setup is only as good as the install . In my eyes a good install

Is it sturdy- ie amps are securely mounted, not laying in the trunk. enclosure fastened as well as properly constructed

Is it safe - proper wire gauge, routing, fusing, and termination

How does it sound - duh

how does it look - Last on my list cause if the first three criteria are met , I could give a fat rats arse what it looks like really. Cosmetics come after the foundation is built.

Enclosures specifically there are a number of different variables that could affect two competitors using identical equipment and recieving different scores. Any tiny miniscule difference will do it . Air temperature / pressure too many things to list really //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
