Ok, so my current setup is 2 RE RE 12's, ported tuned to 32hz (and CDT Ef-61 componets when i get around to kickpanels) and the box for the RE's is huge. No problems, except when I am at college this fall, my truck is gonna be parked hella far away, and I am thinking that my stuff will get stolen...soooooo.
I was thinking of getting an 8, possibly the RL-i 8 or the RE, leaning on the Rl-8 (and trade someone my 2 re's for an 8 or something). Ok, sealed, false floor in the extend cab part of my 89 s-10. The box being somewhere between .3-.5ft^3 and having the amp hidden under there also, so nothing can be seen. The 8 would be fed a max of ~450rms, or as much as is acceptable for the woofer. Oh and this would be a downward firing box, about an inch from the floor. So does this sound like a decent idea, and if you have pics of a similar install, I would like to see them. Ideas/input is welcome.
