Some opinions..mids

Trying to conteplate chainging my Peerless 2" domes and Illusion Nd8s for:

DLS Iridium 8s

DLS Iridium3s

Dyn MD140s

Dyn MW170s

Current setup is

Stock HU

Arc DXE

Arc 4150XXK Illusion Nd8/ Rainbow CAL26s

Arc 2500XXK 2 Flatline 12s

Arc 2100XXK..Peerless domes

I like warm natural sound, with a decent amount of midbass. I pretty much have my opinion set, but wanted feedback. Please keep in mind it doesnt have to be a "brand matched set" meaning I could use an Iridium8 with MD140s, or vice versa.

I have the Dls up6's and they are the best front stage speakers I have heard for the money. After talking with the guys at avincar (they deal Dyn also) they think the up6 is the best speaker not $750 like the dyns. I considered Iridiums, but to me the idea of an unpressed paper cone in the door in the pacific northwest seemed like a setup for disaster. From what they told me, the iridiums can be made to sound better, but it takes a lot of tuning to get there where up6's are a plug and play deal. I think you will be happy with either set, If you are doing kicks, the iridiums would be a great choice, I just wouldn't trust them in a door. If the woofs are going in the door, I'd probably do either Dls UR6's or Dls UP6's prior to the iridiums, just due to the moisture deal. Of course if you wand that 8" mid, the iridiums are it.

I've witnessed the Iridium 6 play SOLID down to 50hz IB in doors, in one of my buddy's car- no tunning....dont see why the doors would be an issue, regardless of moisture...thats what caraudio products are made to endure...

Don...you know i feel Dyn all the way....its THE CLASSIC...but the 170's might not satisfy your cone area craving...I say look into the 190's

Dyn's sizing is a lil' odd.

Besides those basketball grills are teh pukey...
