Hi,

First of all thanks for looking any help greatly appreciated!! I've tried google etc but seem to keep going round in circles !!

I've got a 2014 transporter I've connected the original head unit to a pioneer d8604 4 channel amplifier via a speaker to RCA adapter.

I'm currently running the amp in 2 channel mode 100w per channel at 4 ohms, I've replaced the stock speakers with Focal 2way component speaker system 6" Flax cone - Focal PS165F which are 70w nominal and 140w max.

I've set all the gains etc but my problem is if I turn the gain down, I can only turn the head unit up to about 5 on the volume it's way too loud ! Even volume 2 is too loud really, if I turn the gain up I get hardly any bass and sounds rubbish !

If I turn the gain so it's biased towards the down it sounds better, but at volume 9 on certain tracks the speakers distort on certain tracks like a popping sound, I think it's the bass causing this. I'm be tried turning the bass down on the head unit but if I then turn the volume up it distorts again and sounds rubbish.

I hope I've explained it clearly!!!!

Please help !!!

The amp spec says 100 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms

Hi I ran new speaker wire from the amp to the speakers, I cut The speaker cable directly as it comes out of the rear of the head unit and connected the speaker wire to the RCA convertor then RCA lead from the convertor to the amp.

Thanks for replying !!
