so i am going to run 1700 rms total

and heres what i have:

1/0 big 3

1/0 amp wiring

130 amp stock alt

-----------------------------

so my question would be, which battery will be ideal for this setup?

I almost never play my music when the car is off but i want a strong unit that won't die on me from abuse.

i'm thinking the kinetik 2400, anything else?

Kinetik makes top notch batteries, anything from them will suffice. You should be allright with what you plan to do, but if any dimming occurs then a second battery should solve the problem. You shouldnt need an HO alt for that amount of power, your alt is fairly large for a stock alt.

truck alt lol. I wouldn't be using anywhere near full power, i still want to be able to hear at 65 lol. Also what is a good place to buy kinetik batteries?

you have a few dealers local. 2000 or 2400 would be solid for you

For the amount of power 1700wrms you don't need a batt that big. you can get buy with nothing bigger than the HC1800. I talked to someone at kinetic and they said Ideally they would recomend a HC1400 under the hood and the HC1800 near the amps but that would be for strict competitors. I have looked at the specs and my friend peteyglad has a HC2000 and my brother (2006 IASCA Stock 1 Champion IdbL) has a HC2400 in the trunk with his stock batt under the hood and that is effective. I would just save the money and go with a HC 1800 and be done with it.

I have a Redtop with 2 jl 1000/1s and a 300/4 and have no votlage problems with my 140amp alt.

i think i'm going the kinetik route. I just want a strong battery that i can use during driving. I fon't compete or play my music with the car off so deep cycles are not much use to me.

also i think found a good deal for a kinetik 1800.

is 230 shipped (new battery) a good price?
