Soldering in the Ignition Harness

Are there any suggestions on how to successfully solder the wires in the ignition harness. The three wires I need to get at are the starter wire (will be cut for starter kill on the alarm), the ignition wire, and the accessory output wire. The starter wire will not be as hard to do since I am splicing it. But, I am adding onto the ignition wire and the accessory output. What would be the easiest way to solder? I tried soldering but it does not work out too well upside down in a tight space. Would the easiest thing be to cut the wires and then solder all three wires back together (both sides of ignition/accessory and the third add on wire)?

what car? to be honest you need a good iron. I personally do not solder ign harness wires unless its a starter kill, i cross hatch just as efective if done right and maybe a min or two quicker. Really i would not reccomend cutting, their will be a way to do it without it

What is cross hatching? I will probably solder the starter kill since I have to cut the wire anyways. It is not as hard as adding onto the wire.

EDIT: Car is a 2007 Nissan Versa.

basicly strip ur wire back. take a pick tool and put a "o" in the middle of the wire. run ur(rem.start/alarm) wire threw it, and wrap it around the ign harness wire, tape it very well and i like to throw a zip tie on it allso for extra protection...

Thanks for the info. That should probably work out fine for the ignition and accessory wire.

I'll solder the starter wire since I have to cut it.

When I do personal vehicles, I cross hatch + solder + tape...
But the is the best way to secure either way you do it... also use a soldering GUN...

Yeah, cross hatching + soldering should work out nicely. I have a soldering gun, but the thing is so big and the tip is not small enough. I am afraid that I am going to accidentally burn up everything in my car. My soldering iron does get hot enough to solder and the tip is small so I can get into the tight area underneath my steering column and maneuver the thing more easily.

That right their is the SHIT. Great explanation
