So when does an amp do max power

haha wow people on this site are up to 40 years older than me....but they still are way more childish. The people in here that leave dumb *** reponses are going no where in life at all!

All I can say is the distortion will be horrible WAY before most amps output their maximum, split second, maximum power.

Max power is usually the ISBL (If Struck By Lightning) rating that many manufacturers like to give you. Unfortunately, many lower cost budget amplifiers are rated at Max power from the factory //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

well thats a given...

but usually you multiply peak by .707 and get rms, some lower companies probably measure in peak to peak so a 2000 peak to peak amp will put out about 707watts rms. roughly

but you amp will never give you a peak value.
