You'd do 1, but keep this in mind:
1. It will not be as loud as HDC315.
2. It will sound better and play lower. TC-sounds are known to be low end monsters.
3. In a good ported box, you'll be able to get solid output out of it.
4. If you're looking to slam and looking to play too low, go with the HDC315.
