Why the acura and not yours?
The answer:
Acuras are simply easy to get into and steal with only a flathead, a phillips, and a hammer.
First off, lets say you got one with an alarm. Reach your hand in the front lower grill, yank hood cable (hood pops) and rip the battery terminals off
Take a flat head, pry the drivers or passenger window out of the window seal and you can bend the window back far enough to get your arm in and pop the lock.
(Honda / Acura thieves will often have bruises on their forearms from doing this, sometimes its a tight fit but it can be done every time)
Once youre in - take apart the plastic console surrounding the ignition. It can easily be ripped apart in 2 seconds. now you got a big ignition cylinder hangin out on the right. Start hammering the whole ignition assembly downwards til it breaks off (this is what unlocks the steering wheel and provides easy access for the last step).
Now that you got half the ignition hangin by some wires, you just unscrew 2 phillips that hold a round white piece to the metal key cylinder. Take your flathead and twist the screw in the middle of that plastic thing and VOILA it will fire right up (if no alarm)
If it had an alarm, you gonna have to rip the wires off the alarm speaker, connect the battery back, and you gotta push start the car. You might be driving around with the corner lights flashing but thats OK
If this person was smart enough to install a hood pin switch or a backup battery for their alarm, you know theres gotta be some goodies inside. I will describe this in the next episode.
This concludes todays episode of "How to steal a Honda or Acura - part 1"
PS i am not a honda thief - but a honda enthusiast - ive had mine stolen enough times to know how this works
