So I pull into the parking lot to IHOP this morning to stop and say hey to some friends. There is a guy driving a red truck who I have never seen before and has some music going but can't really hear the bass. I look inside and can see some subs, I open the door to get a closer look and see subs I have never seen. Come to find out they are MB quart premium's, 4 of them in a sealed enclosure(12's btw). The guy says "wanna hear em?" , I say "sure". My god did these subs get loudddddddddddddddd. I thought the 15 XXX was loud but these subs sure as hel* did give that setup a run for the money. I ask him what amp he's got and he says a 4,000 watt cliff design amp. Now seeing as how the site says those subs really only like 600 watts, I find that hard to believe but whatever.

Has anyone else ever heard these subs before? First time I've ever heard any kind of MB quart stuff, and I am very very impressed.

that's a link to the sub ^^^^

Ive seen those before. But not in real life

The inverted surround is kinda lame since the RFL uses it.

The Cliff Design amp is a MA Audio 4000D

If he had the gain set properly they wouldve been getting plenty power

Before I bought my L7s, I was thinking about buying a pair of them off of ebay.

They were extremely cheap for a NEW pair, was just hesitant consider I was new to ebay at the time too.

Not many people on here had heard them or wanted to suggest them so I went with the solobarics instead.

That's my short pointless story, but I know MB Quart makes quality stuff. It doesn't suprise me that they get loud either, I may buy a few for my friends setup here in a few months.

Seems like Ive seen those somewhere.....

Never actually heard them tho. All we have here is Audiobahn and JL Audio and Im the proud and only owner of some RE SE subs in my fair city //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

And BTW, Im in negative's sig lol i just noticed that, thanks

Ive heard them before... My old car audio store was an authorized MB quartz dealer. They were ok... for comparison one of the MB quartz 12"s was maybe as loud as a Audiobahn 1200 or Maybe a 1206... SQ wise... They of course destroyed the audiobahns SQ wise... i think the sub you could compare it to to loudness and SQ is the Audiobahn ALUM 12". It got just about as loud and the SQ was slightly better than the ALUM 12".... sorry audiobahns were the only subs i could compare them to.

Well the box the 4 subs were in wasn't that big at all, I'm guessing he had a shop install it (guessing b/c it looked well built and nice carpet job). The SQ wasn't really that bad I'm not sure what to compare it to really.

Yes it was in an extended cab truck for whoever asked, to lazy to scroll up.

Also, I know that 4 12's sealed compared to 1 15" ported is hard to compare but still.

4 premium's sealed, not sure box specs 4kwatts, VS. 1 15" XXX with orion 2500D (1ohm) 4^3 tuned @ 32hz.

/shrug ;P.

This is why I hate most comparisons. Different number and size of drivers in different installs in different vehicles. Comparing the actual drivers used in all but the most superficial ways means making assumptions. I know this isn't a comparison thread, but it seems to be turning that way. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

No the reason I brought my friends setup into this convo is because up until hearing this guys system, that was the loudest system I had heard.

Only reason I brought Weeces system into the picture. Sorry I don't go to many competitions. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

Which is why I said it wasn't actually a comparison thread.
