....who got his amp/subs installed to the factory head unit.
Problem is, his amp seems to only play like 60hz and under. It won't play higher notes for some odd reason.
There is no HPF, only LPF-FULL. We put it on full and lpf with the lpf knob on the highest it can go to, 500hz, so the amp will play everything under 500hz. We tried tuning with a 50hz 0db tone and guess what happened? He turned the gain all the way up and still we couldn't get a reading on the DMM. We had to use the bass boost knob to get a reading. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif
Still, the subs weren't playing high notes with "known tracks" as I like to call them. Songs that have the notes we were looking for.
I'm figuring this peice of crap legacy line out converter is the problem.
It's tapped onto the speaker wires that connect to the HU.
I can only figure either that line-out converter piece of junk is exactly that. Or the HU has internal X-overs and the line-out converter is attached to the wrong set of speaker wires. I figure this because the 50hz test tone we played to tune with was playing loud on the back 6.5's but not on the front 6.5's.
Go figure.......
Can anybody figure this out?
