I need help figuring out what's going wrong with my sub

I know all of my cords going into and out of my amp sub and head unit are all hooked up correctly, I have my head units SWPRE setting set to SW I'm not entirely sure what SWPRE stands for but when I try to play my sub sometimes I will get sound but it will only be a popping or hissing during bass hits and an extremely faint singing I have tried everything possible i have rewired all my cords a million times and I can't get that to happening, and when the hissing and popping isn't happening there is no sound at all

You were sold a bad amp. Also if you can check the impedence on your subwoofer with a digital muti meter. The coils should read 2 4 or 1 ohm whatever coil configuration u have it should read close to that. If not subs blown. Go down the line man. Check rca's check all wires on Head unit and amplifier, make sure you have a good ground.

But it sounds like a bad amp. But make sure you set on LPF and not HPF that will cause you to skip on bass tones too. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
