So I got into an accident today...**UPDATE**

I hope everything works out for you man. I just got involved in an accident myself recently. Some idiot motorcycle tried to pass me to the right as I was turning right and he ended up hitting me. Its complete bullshit though. I live in a college town and happen to be attending that college. So of course, these cops think Im just some punk *** kid and they are believing everything this *** hole on the motorcycle is saying. Even though the motorcyclist fled the scene before I could call the cops and lied about the whole thing to the cops (I had 2 witnesses). Even after that, the cops dont even update the case or anything. And just because of a few mischosen words I used, this ******* is getting everything he wants. So he pretty much took advantage of the fact I was a college student all the way from the way I handled the situation (not calling the cops right away) and him knowing the cops wouldnt believe a lick of anything I said. My family is considering hiring a laywer but we may not just because of the way its looking already and my family is well off enough to risk taking it to court seeing as how we would end up in the same system that sees college kids everyday. I have since bought a camera to put into my car (the physical aspects of the crash and a parked vehicle are part of what the ******** lied about). Anyways, I hope your case goes a lot better than mine.

man, there is no ounce of luck for you in that. Well i would take it to court, if its costing you a lot of money directly or indirectly.

Like I said, we want to but he just dont even know if it would be worth it. All the cards are stacked against me. Dumb **** cops, lying *** hole, biased judges... Plus the fact that I took some information from a cop back home that messed me up worse (he wasnt technically wrong, just didn't quite understand the situation so he told me to say the wrong stuff). So at this point, we are pretty much down to just letting the insurance handle it unfortunately. Hopefully they wont pay out to this jackass for lying, fleeing the scene before cops could arrive, and not informing his insurance company of the accident. On a side note, when the accident happened, he didnt want to give me his information after he had mine. So I then demanded his information or I'd file for hit and run. Would I have been better off letting his chicken *** run off then filing for hit and run. Then getting his information when he tried to make a claim against my insurance (which he did before he even knew the cops were called). Sorry, I dont mean to hijack your thread snova031. Just letting my frustration out about this whole situation.

Update: We talked the Chief of Police today without saying who we were or the cops that were involved before we started talking to him. After we explained the whole situation to him piece by piece, he was absolutely appalled by the way the guy that hit me lied and left the scene AND how his own cops treated me like shit and didnt amend the accident report about a parked vehicle. We also talked to insurance company and they are indeed going to fight it to court. The insurance company and myself believe that the cops might be a little crooked because this gentleman coincidently has the exact same last name and resembles the star lead quarterback for my "little" college.

Update time.

I've been out of work since the accident, and am on disability till approximately Dec 1.

We found the people, and their insurance company notified them of what's going on and asked them if they were in an accident. Basically, if they say they weren't in an accident, we do nothing to them or their insurance company, and deal strictly with my insurance company and attempt to get a settlement out of them.

This guy tells his insurance company that he was in the accident, however, he left the scene because he didn't know why I was pulling over on a side street when it happened, and decided to just take off....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Just an update on all of this.

Nothing ever happened with the person that hit me..they pretty much got off free on this.

I did, however, collect $10,000 from their insurance company. Got about $7,000 after all fees were paid, put it straight into a 6 month CD, then I'll decide where to invest from there on. Won't be spending any of it, simply investing.

All in all, I ended up with some cash, and no lingering effects from the accident. Worked out pretty good.
