Thanks man, I really appreciate it. Did you work up the design yourself?? What frequency is this enclosure tuned to? Is there anything that would help me come up with my own design?

screw POS, I mean P4S.... they can say that it isn't a Snailshell all they want. It is but it may not have the internal appearance as there's.....

for instance, I could have done the inside better..... I could have rounded out more corners, use resin to smooth everything in, and instead of a "V", smooth it out to make it look like a "U".... To all asking about internal volume and tuning. If this is in fact a snail shell design, there is no pre determined internal volume an tuning. All snail shell enclosures are built without using a certain net volume or tuning. FYI.

If P4S is denying that it is one of there actual designs chances are it is not the actual design they use.

Granted they could just be denying it to save face and not loose any business. But if it is in fact not a SS lets start calling it a fake shell at least.

No, this is the Snailshell from P4S. This is the "old" design that they did use. The design was drawn up by She's A Good AIM from the sounddomain forum. He bought a P4S Snailshell box from someone and he cut it open and measured everything.

However, the "new" design is smoother inside with more curves and what not. Kinda like I explained I could have done.... P4S boxes are high quality and that's why they are so much. Sure you could build it but would it be right...

No one has the formula and design they go off of. So no one but the creators could actually design one. Now cutting one open would yield the dimensions for that particular driver. Was the box that he tore apart actually the XXX box???

I am in no way suggesting that POS, I mean P4S boxes are great. They are. I mean, if my setup sounds like this and supposively my box isn't right, then I can imagine how the P4S box sounds!!!!

Can you elaborate on the differences in the SS box and your previous ported box, once you get a decent amount of listening time in on it?

from my understanding the snail shell is designed for spl. how is the SQ on these boxes?
