so i was looking at a friends home theater settup and noticed his sub wasnt really in a box. it was in an enclosure resembeling a snail shell. the enclosure sat with the port on the floor and the subs fired horizontaly one on each side. the entire enclosure was basicly round with the exception of the very bottom of the enclosure where it sat on the floor and where the subs were mounted.

it looks really cool and seems to do a **** good job producing very powerful bass. my question is how exactly would you build an enclosure like this? and how the hell would you calculate all the shit? can anyone explain the theory behind it? he said the port is actualy shaped like a cone(aka smaller at the port entrance and larger at exit, just like a snail shell.) that seems odd to me.
