Smoking amp

I got a jbl1200.1 off ebay today. I took out my current amp (jbl 600.1) and put in the new one. When i turned it on nothing happened then a small amount of smoke came out of the amp along with a burnt smell. I quickly unplugged everything.

Is my amp dead?

talk to the seller and see if he had like a no DOA or something, just talk to him maybe he will be nice
