I think nightshade looks like ***, you have to spray - polish them then repeat, after putting so much time and effort into it, you shoulda just had them painted, my friend figured this out the hardway when his orange peelish night shaded lights faded. Anything aerosal is not going on my paint or exterior of my car, unless zaino makes some type of goodie in a aerosal can lol. I went the right way the first time and had them painted, its been almost a year now and they still look as smooth and glossy as before.

You actually have to wetsand, not polish.

Was bored today so I figured I'd smoke my tail lights with VHT Nightshade... but I couldn't find it at Pep Boys or Auto Zone?

Anyone know of a retail store that sells the **** stuff?

here is the film that PRIVATEpastry posted earlier. if you can get someone to go half its only $20. the finish on this film looks alot better than the spray i have seen. it is not just tint it adds protection. i think its 5mil thick. it would take alot of work to get spray to look this good. these have not been polished or buffed. i did all my lights. never been pulled over for it.

HOW hard was it applying it? Cuz the lights have all the little letters on them....... looks nice tho

Its amazing that you havent been pulled over for the headlights. Thats not legal in any state

yes wetsand

some 6-800 grit should take it off just fine, might take a while but its worth it.

i did not sand any of my lights. just washed them and put the film on. it stretches really well with a hairdryer on it.

as for being legal,your headlights have to shine a certain distance to be legal. it may vary by state though. my output was barely dimmed by the film as it is fairly thin. on top of that i put in the sylvania silverstar lights. i have passed several state and county cops with no problems.

In my opinion guys, if your going to go the route of smoked headlights/tailights why would you not use tint?! If the police are going to bust you for it, it doesnt matter if you have the tint or spray. just my 2cents.

If I go with the other tint [the film type thing] I'll have to buy soke from that site, but I dont need a shitload... i just need about 6 sq feet cuz I just want to do the backlights...

Thinking bout doing this tomorrow and was wondering how many coats of the night shade should I apply? or what seems to be a good amount?
