Alright so my mother has recently purchased a new car (her back and forth to work DD car, 1980 'Yota Corrolla). She is very picky about her sound and im sure the 27 year old system in it is no good. She doesnt need a big boomin rattle your car apart system, just something thatll deliver nice lows and have decent SQ.

She has a limited budget of 400.00 for everything (HU, components, small sub and a sub amp), im looking at a 10 or 8 inch sub, however most likely a 10. Ill also need a decent component set for the front doors. Also a small sub amp, no more than 500 RMS, and a decent HU.

Now, on with the equipment ive picked out.

HU (shes owned a Blau. HU before and loves them)

Sub (shes in love with CV home audio //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif)

Components (budget here)

Ill get a Knu 8 awg kit as far as wiring, and ill be installing myself.

However I have run into a small problem, Crutchfeild says that no HU they carry fit the car? Why is this?

Will this be good for a budget SQ system?

Everything looks ok. However, if you want true SQ system, you work on the front stage. Don't get your components on a budget. Get your sub and sub amp on a budget. While there is SQ to a sub, it's not nearly as noticable as the front stage. So focus on the front stage.

I plan on upgrading them later to some Infinities or something similar. Would it be easier and cheaper to just leave the speakers stock for now and ditch the Blaupunkts totall

Anyone got any ideas on the HU deal? Is crutchfield saying BS or is there really something special about this cars HU hole?

how about getting a 4 channel amp, bridging rears for sub, and using the front 2 for comps, if you're really on a budget, see if you can get a hold of phoenix gold rsd comps, if not, pio rev coax, Profile has a 4 chan amp that could work, the ap1040, and how bout a kicker comp for a sub? its cheaper, than the cv, which gives u more money to get comps

I may get the kicker, although as i said she really likes CV and their products so i may not be able to steer her away from it.

Are these the PG RSDs you were talking about?

I was thinking i could just run the components off the HU as they will not have to keep up with a huge amount of bass.

tehy're a bit pricey for ur budget, but i think u can squeeze some extra funds for the project

I planned on running the sub off the bridged rear channel and the components off the front. The only problems i could find out was how could i control the sub and the components differently?

Im really liking those components Immacomputer linked me to, and im sure she will too.
