Nice equipment you got there. That Zapco is real sexy. I have an AG750 and it is clean and loud. Pair it up with some CDT comps and you will be very happy ;-)

Any suggestions for a good set of comps, my budget is probably around $500 either new or used.

Like I said, if anyone has a pair they're willing to get rid of PM me.

F23A1 is a decently stout motor. Find another 4 cyl engine (non-turbo, non diesel) that makes as much torque as it does horsepower. I've got the boring as 4 speed automatic. But in the 5 speed form, it's actually a fun combo. Should have no problems with that stuff. My concern would be suspension. I've got wheels on my accord and when I get fat-asses in my car, my rear tires brush the inner fender well when I really cram em in there over bumps'n'such.

Got the battery and alternator in, did the big 3. Had to fabricate a new battery mount for the PC-1500 since it didn't want to fit into the stock battery slot. Still not finished, I was in a hurry. Made it out of fiberglass obviously.

A shot of the Zapco, a bit too big for the box, didn't plan that out too well. I'm going to make a mount and place it on a 45 angle and put the SS-6500 behind it out of sight.

Got the second battery in, hooked it up to the isolator.

So I picked up some Zapco ref series comps from a buddy of mine he had laying around, $200 for a full set and two spare mids.

Now I need a equilizer so I can run them active.

 
Been a while since my last update, system is currently assembled and functional. Don't have all the pics up yet but here is some progress from a few weeks ago.

I had to make sure everything was stiff and nothing would fall apart during testing, so I did several layers of glass all over the inside of the box.

Had to buy some new speaker wires so I went 2 runs of 4 gauge split to 4 runs of 8 gauge audison.

So it's been a while and the system is obviously done. I went to a car show a week ago and competed for the first time ever. Got a score of 143.8 in stock 3 class. First run hit 140.8 and second run I hit 143.8. Looks like a few things need changing, port for one, going to have the port face the inside of the cab and hopefully soundproof the car in a bit. I'm also thinking of tuning the port to 50hz cause one of the other guys who was there (sponsored) suggested i try it out. As apposed to 38 which is what it's tuned to now. Broke my leg this weekend so we'll see when I get around to getting on this project.
