Well if you really must know, I'm planning on double up all the sides that are going to be mdf. And the glass I'm probably going to layer up to an inch thick. Bracing all sides into the center of the glass mold each way, up, down, across, you name it. I prefer using glass over mdf so it sits better in my trunk, takes up as little space as possible and maximizing volume efficiency. I can't picture the glass being a big deal as long as I keep it free of air pockets, that's the major problem with it. I usually sand out any imperfections after each layer. I'm sure 15 layers of glass will be near bullet proof...right?
A buddy of mine suggests I do it up in a sealed box which I'm hoping to avoid. But as you can see from the pics of my trunk I don't have a lot of room to work with, I've done a rough estimate and I could probably get around 6 cubic feet out of a box.
I'm still pretty new to the audio world so I pretty much went along with my buddy, I'm still contemplating a port. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm not looking at stripping the interior. I use this thing as my daily.
Yeah the joints weren't a big deal, I had to go out and buy a table saw though. It was on my list of things to do anyways so I figured why not.
