if my slot port is slightly wider than i wanted how much will this affect my tuning? suppose to be 3 1/4 inches but might be closer to 3 1/2 inches wide. by 15 high 19 deep with the back of the port being 15 inches long. the back is at 3 1/4 tho. what will this do to my sound?

It will lower the tuning a little.... no way of telling how much without a little more info.

You can use a program like LEAP or WinISD to model your subs and enclosure to see what the 'oops' will mean for your tuning. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

It will raise your tuning! If you have the back right but the front is a bit higher- than modeling it will be harder. hornresp will do it. But it has a big learning curve. I don't think you will be far off anyway.

okay not sure if it will be higher or lower. 2 different answers... I'm already tuned at 27 hertz cuz my car will make it be loudest at 6 hertz higher than what the box it tuned to. (not sure what that is called) so it would hit at a solid 33.

cabin gain? and itll just be a little higher. i had the same with my box. went from 45-49hz
okay wel thats not bad i guess. my last box was a little small and at almost 35 and it jumped to a solid 40. i was just missing some of those bone shaking lows lol

You should be fine. I don't know where you got the idea that your box will peak at 6 db above tuning. (Got a link?) If you are talking about cabin gain, it is the car that determines the frequency and gain, not the box. I would think you will not get much of a peak with such a low tuning unless you oversized your box also.

friend built the first box i had at 34.7 hertz about 2.6 cubes. it was too small recommended is 3.5 cubes, thats what I'm doing now. but i metered a 129 and it was loudest on 40 hertz burps. ( i was wired at 4 ohms then so prbly only pushing 300w ) so the new bigger box plus wiring to 1 ohm should help. my apsm 1300 still won't do quite 1000w rms which is what I'm hoping to give my oa 15, but it should be better.

but anyways thats where i got the 5 to 6 hertz jump at (cabin rise?)
